The Grand Prix at the Visual Arts Festival Goes to Abigail
The fantasy adventure film Abigail (directed by Aleksandr Boguslavsky) was awarded the Grand Prix of the All-Russian Visual Arts Festival. The results were announced on August 23 at the closing ceremony.
This year’s program included over 100 animated and feature films. For a week, a jury comprised of children presided by movie and TV celebrities was selecting winners in such nominations as Feature Film, Animation (short and full-length), Television, 21st Century Directors, Clip-Stream, and Photomarathon.
The main prize – the Big Crystal Penguin – went to Abigail in the key nomination, Feature Film. The movie premiered in Russia in 2019; later on, over 100 countries got to see it.
